STROKE: Remember The 1st Three Letters.... S.T.R.

STROKE IDENTIFICATION:

It only takes a minute to read this..

A neurologist says that if he can get to a stroke victim
within 3 hours he can totally reverse the effects of a
stroke... totally . He said the trick was getting a stroke
recognized, diagnosed, and then getting the patient
medically cared for within 3 hours, which is tough.

RECOGNIZING A STROKE
Thank God for the sense to remember the
'3' steps, STR . Read and Learn!

Sometimes symptoms of a stroke are difficult to identify.
Unfortunately, the lack of awareness spells disaster. The
stroke victim may suffer severe brain damage when
people nearby fail to recognize the symptoms of a stroke
.

Now doctors say a bystander can recognize a stroke
by asking three simple questions:

S * Ask the individual to SMILE.
T * Ask the person to TALK and SPEAK A SIMPLE SENTENCE
(Coherently) i.e. It is sunny out today)

R * Ask him or her to RAISE BOTH ARMS .

If he or she has trouble with ANY ONE of these tasks,
call 999/911 immediately and describe the

symptoms to the dispatcher.

New Sign of a Stroke ------- Stick out Your Tongue

NOTE: Another 'sign' of a stroke is this: Ask the person
to 'stick' out his tongue.. If the tongue is 'crooked',
if it goes to one side or the other
, that is also an
indication of a stroke.

A cardiologist says if everyone who gets this
e-mail sends it to
10 people; you can bet that
at least one life will be saved.

Real Hollywood Heroes

                                          How times do change!
You probably have to have a few
years under your belt to really appreciate this message.
WHAT HAPPENED TO THE WW II MOVIESTARS?
Most of these brave men have since passed on. Hope you find this as informative as I did.
                                        "Real Hollywood Heroes"

Alec Guinness (Star Wars) operated a British Royal Navy landing craft on D-Day.

Clark Gable (Mega-Movie Star when war broke out).  Although he was beyond the draft age at the time the U.S. entered WW II, Clark Gable enlisted as a private in the AAF on Aug. 12, 1942 at Los Angeles.  He attended the Officers' CandidateSchool at Miami Beach , Fla. and graduated
as a second lieutenant on Oct. 28, 1942.  He then attended aerial gunnery school and in Feb. 1943 he was assigned to the 351st Bomb Group at Polebrook
where he flew operational missions over Europe in B-17s. Capt. Gable returned to the U.S. in Oct. 1943 and was relieved from active duty as a major on Jun. 12, 1944 at his own request, since he was over-age for combat.

Robert Ryan was a U.S. Marine who served with the O.S.S. in Yugoslavia.

So how do you feel the real heroes of the silver screen acted when compared to the hollywonks today who spewout anti-American drivel as they bite the hand that feeds them? Can you imagine these stars of yester-year saying they hate our flag, making anti-war speeches, and marching in anti-American parades and saying they hate our president?

I thought not, neither did I!

If you enjoyed this bit of history, please share it.

Hi All, I checked with Norton Anti-Virus, and they are gearing up for this virus!I checked snopes.com, and it is for real!! http://www.snopes.com/computer/virus/postcard.asp

PLEASE FORWARD THIS WARNING AMONG FRIENDS, FAMILY AND CONTACTS!

You should be alert during the next few days. Do not open any message with an attachment entitled 'POSTCARD,' regardless of who sent it to you. It is a virus which opens A POSTCARD IMAGE, which 'burns' the whole hard disc C of your computer. This virus will be received from someone who has your e-mail address in his/her contact list. This is the reason why you need to send this e-mail to all your contacts. It is better to receive this message 25 times than to receive the virus and open it.

If you receive a mail called' POSTCARD,' even though sent to you by a friend, do not open it.! Shut down your computer immediately.

This is the worst virus announced by CNN. It has been classified by Microsoft as the most destructive virus ever. This virus was discovered by McAfee yesterday, and there is no repair yet for this kind of virus. This virus simply destroys the Zero Sector of the Hard Disc, where the vital information is kept.

FOR THOSE WHO ARE INTERESTED IN DIVING I CAN RECOMMEND THIS OPERATION.

On 18th October 2007, we received the judgement of the European Court of Justice in the case of C299/05 (European Commission v European Parliament and the Council).

The Court has decided that Disability Living Allowance (care component only), Attendance Allowance, and Carer’s Allowance are not ‘Special Non Contributory Benefits’. This may mean that, in certain circumstances, these benefits will be paid to customers who move from the UK to live in another country within the European Economic Area.

We are not yet in a position to say in what circumstances DLA (Personal Care)

and Attendance Allowance can be paid to customers who move from the

United Kingdom to live in other European Economic Countries (or Switzerland),

however we expect to provide full details on eligibility criteria on

www.direct.gov.uk  by 5th April 2008. We anticipate that first payments could be

made to eligible customers shortly afterwards.

At the present we are inputting customers details onto a database and we will contact you at a later date.

www.direct.gov.uk will be kept updated with all the latest information.
